Abstract

An Atonal Cinema critically examines Palestinian cinema through Edward Said’s contrapuntal method and the concept of musical atonality. Surveying films by various directors, White demonstrates how Palestinian filmmakers use innovative aesthetics as a form of political resistance, challenging dominant narratives in their exploration of memory, identity, and displacement.
